Just found some pics of the ol homestead we sold almost 3years ago. So many memories at that dining room table. I recall looking out that dining room window with coffee in hand watching the snow storms, 14 plus winters to be exact. I awaited each Spring to come to clean out the screened in porch, (my personal summer out-door room). The door was always opened at our home. I miss those days, and memories, but its time to make new ones. This empty nester is ready!!!

Got up early this morning, this beautiful sunny morning. I took a moment, and listened to the chirpping birds. It's a glorious sound to hear. I paused, I listened, I breathed it all in, just for a moment.....thank you Lord for the mornings, and my first breath of the day.

Went out riding with a friend along some country roads....my soul was at peace. Come to realize my roots are country. My childhood years were spent in Chichester, NH. As country as one can get. That's what I am drawn too. The peace and tranquility of it all. The Simple pleasurers, of seeing crumbley old barns...and imagine what they once were.....small running brooks running along side a country road. Cloths hanging out to dry in the clean country air. Simple, basic, that's what I love.

The signs of March

I remember the signs and smells of march as a child.....like it was yesterday. My favorite month....I am partial however, I was born in March. I remember red rubber boots, and splashing in the puddles left by melting snow. What is the thrill of walking in a puddle as a child (or adult) with your rubber boots on you ask? Well for one thing you can.. and won't get in trouble, cause you got your boots on! What about sloshing that wet brown mud around. Another thrill, the surprise of how deep a puddle may be once you step into it, the deeper the water the higher the water mark goes on you red boots and guess what......your feet are still dry, nope not gonna get in trouble!!

I remember the smells of March too. The smell of the earth because it's slowly appearing once again from under the blanket of Winter's snow. The ground stays muddy for some time and those red rubber boots are out for awhile for the wearing. Each time they are slipped on its another adventure out in March's melting madness. The green grass is coming...but this has to happen first. Fond memories so glad I have them. Do you? Get out your red rubber boots or blue or green boots, enjoy all of March!

A mom's heart sharing. It's our son's birthday today. I as a mom remember this day like it was yesterday...but it wasen't just yesterday! Yes it's true that's how us moms think about our "babies" but they are not babies, and we know that. I choose to post the pic of our son's wedding. Taking his beautiful bride, standing before God, and all to witness. He's a man, a husband, a son, a brother, grandson, nephew, brother-in-law, friend, U.S. Marine but fondly known as "his dad's little man". We love you Louie and wish you a very happy 24th birthday today!!! We will celebrate upon your return home.

Hello....yes I'm here! My computer has been on a long rest, meanwhile, I haven't, but thats ok. I"ve been very busy with Thanksgiving, with my sister and friends, (it was a wonderful time), Got our tree up early this year. Plane ticket all set for the youngest to come home for Christmas from college. Excited for that. We are getting ready to send our son (who is on a ship somewhere, serving in the U.S. Marines) his Christmas package. Gonna miss him like crazy, but counting down the days for his return to the states and home.. Remember......enjoy this season, it is possible!!

Getting ready...over the river and thru the woods....will have company this weekend and family and friends for Thanksgiving. Our son is serving somewhere in the MIddleEast and our youngest is in college many many miles away. Blessed our oldest will share Thanksgiving dinner with us!! It's just the "season" that we are in. Our young adult children making their way in life. This Mama is getting used to this...empty nest, but always look forward with great excitement when the kids come "home".

Getting some creative ideas for this season coming upon us. I love when that happens to me. I'm considering lots of handmade decorations, Thoughtful gift giving, and yes even re-purposing materials for gift making. I don't mean "re-gifting" not alot of careful thought in that. I intend to be very creative, it's exciting. Keep thinking what are you doing for this Christmas? May your ideas be useful and meaningful gift giving. Happy thinking and creating!!

November 1st.....I love this time of year. It is a time to "hunker" down and "nest".. Everyone is thinking of the Holidays to come. Thanksgiving it seems gets swept under the carpet during this time of year. The TV has commercials for Halloween then they go straight to Christmas, well not "Christmas" but "The Holidays". Well I for one love Thanksgiving. I adore the family and friend time, of folks dropping in and stopping by and catching up with everyones news. It's a basic and simple time, sharing a meal, coffee and or dessert. You know just take a moment....there is plenty to be thankful for if you think about it. Thank you Lord for my family, and friends. I'm getting excited for this time of year. Thank you Lord for blessing me with a great family, and loving friends.

My sister and I are taking our time cleaning out our mothers home. Mom went to be with Jesus last December. It amazes me that we are coming upon a year now that she has been gone. We are taking our time cleaning out mom's things, her things, the things that made her....well her. My sister and I have no problems splitting up what we would like to have, that was our mothers. Oh my goodness when I blogged about visitng our Pumpkin Farm I did not mention where it was (thanks to Wanda who asked :) ) it is Penniman Hill Farms in Hingham. Our family is from Hingham and we like to patron town businesses. Now Penniman Hill Farms has a small petting zoo very cute, and an ice cream stand. The pumpkins were just being placed out for the public, so this weekend go and pick out your pumpkins!! Beautiful colorful mums are for sale too, along with fruits and vegies.

I don't have kids going to school anymore, no first day of school photo's on the front stoop. No more lunches to be made, no more soccor games, or car-pools. It's ok....saw the yellow school buses today, brought back memories, sweet memories. A proud moment to be had.... we have raised....one U.S. Marine, and married....one college graduate on her way to dental school....and the littlest one....in college 2nd year now. I'm blessed and happy!!! See........

I am so excited to have grown tomatoes this year. I grew them in a pot not in the ground but just the same I grew it!! I gave Bina the honors of picking the first ripe tomatoe.
